Void 7-9-2019 (High Refresh Rate Monitor Fix, New Loading Screen)


Alright, the new build should resolve a game breaking bug involving High Refresh Rate Monitors, and while I hope it doesn't, it likely introduced a flurry of other smaller problems I've yet to see or resolve...


Anyways, main changes to this build:

  • High refresh rate monitors should now be able to run the game properly without a bunch of extra work; all (hopefully) 'Update' functions have been replaced with 'FixedUpdate' set to 60fps so you can actually move around now.
  • New loading screen that's more informative and less condescending to the player.
  • Damage from being hit by an enemy is sometimes more consistent now, but truly fixing that problem is still in the works.


Big known  problems still to be fixed:

  • Camera stuttering against certain surfaces at certain angles. Still.
  • Enemies don't correct attack angle if you're in attack range, resulting in occasionally attacking at an empty location.
  • Newly introduced bug; attack hitbox turns on when you get hit??  For some reason?
  • Gameplay on the whole is a little less smooth due to major code overhauling and animation table changes. Smoothing it out again is in the works.
  • Ethan likes to spin around while following you/ faces in wrong directions due to conflicting destination code calls. Looks goofy, but he still follows properly so this'll be fixed later on.


Thanks for showing interest in and following Void! More bug fixes to come in the future, as well as an eventual 2nd level.
